The United States has quietly proposed a plan to divide Jerusalem!
The plan even calls for Israel to forfeit parts of the Temple Mount, Judaism’s holiest site.
The plan calls for Palestinian terrorists to become the new police officers to restore and maintain law and order in their half of Jerusalem—including the Temple Mount, that is proposed to be handed over to the Palestinians—and to control such mundane things as overseeing trash collection and maintenance of roads.
James Hutchens, PhD, a former U. S. Military Chaplain who retired with the rank of Brigadier General, says what makes this proposed Jerusalem takeover even more disconcerting is that the United States government is funding the Palestinian Authority with weapons, money, and training. PMW reports that the current U.S. Administration recently asked congress to approve $150 Million in aid to the Palestinian Authority. Based on these recent events, the Palestinian Authority could actually be glorifying terrorists.
Dr. Hutchens says that if this is true, that means that providing them with aid would be a violation of our own laws. He quotes the following law:
“[The US] shall terminate assistance to any individual, entity… which she has determined to be involved in or advocating terrorist activity.”
Congress further legislated that “none of the [US] … assistance under the West Bank and Gaza Program may be made available for the purpose of recognizing or otherwise honoring individuals who commit, or have committed acts of terrorism.”
-2008 Foreign Operations Bill Sec. 657.B - C.1
As founder and president of the JerUSAlem Connection, General Hutchens is more adamant than ever that Christian Zionists are the only people that can be counted on to defend Israel. “Even the Evangelical community is backing down from the defense of Israel,” says Hutchens. “Not all evangelicals are Christian Zionists but all Christian Zionists are evangelicals and believe in the unequivocal Biblical basis for the support of Israel.”
General Hutchens is a foremost spokesman for Christian Zionism. He defines Christian Zionism as the belief and support of the modern state of Israel as a partial fulfillment of God’s covenant promise to provide a national homeland for the Jewish people, with the complete fulfillment culminating with Israel’s redemption when Messiah arrives. The Christian Zionist’s support for Israel is based on God’s irrevocable covenants in the past, not on some uncertain eschatological scenario in the future.
What is your view? Could these reports be true? Do we have a responsibility to defend Israel?
